Expertise in biotechnology and multidisciplinary scientific fields

At SPBT, we work to build a strong and cohesive scientific community in biotechnology. We are an independent network of researchers, academics and professionals, committed exclusively to advancing biotechnological science and innovation in Portugal.

Our members represent the most diverse areas of biotechnology, from fundamental research to industrial application, creating a collaborative network of excellence that covers the entire country.

We have brought together biotechnology talent and knowledge for more than four decades. Since 1981 we have promoted scientific collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation, helping to position Portugal as a European reference in biotechnology and providing specialised support to hundreds of research projects.
